Easter 2013

 Easter 2013

Hey!

We have a bunny for Easter!  He looks like Peter but his name is Opie.  Doodlebug brought him when she came home for Easter.  Opie is so quiet you hardly know he is around and he feels  exactly like velveteen when you pet him.

Bunnies are fun at Easter but they're not really the main reason for the celebration.  I find myself caught between the celebration with candy and bunnies and colored eggs and the more important celebration of sacrificial love and life.

God's Son, the One He called His Beloved, sent to earth and given for the world that He loved.

God's Son, Jesus, who came and poured out His life upon a cross for love's sake, for my sake, for your sake, for humanity's sake.

God's Son, His body torn, bruised, battered opened a living way for those who believe He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

God's Son, the Mediator of a new covenant, has paid the debt upon Heaven's altar.

The tomb is empty.

"He is not here; He has risen!"
Luke 24:6 NIV Bible

God's Son, the Victor, waits for me and you and all who believe in Him, seated to the right of His Father interceding always for us until we're with Him.

Today, I hope to pause in the midst of bunnies and candy and colored eggs to remember that nothing, absolutely nothing is comparable to Him.

Easter blessings to you,

Mimi

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
